Jim's job requires us to take two R & R vacations each year, so in April, we went to sunny, warm (hot!) Dubai. It was our first time in the Middle East, and it did not disappoint. The buildings in Dubai are so futuristic! The shopping is outstanding, or so we heard because we opted to actually rest and relax and have a real vacation! (Recently, our good friend, Martina, taught us the difference between "traveling" and "vacationing"!) Besides "only" being two flights and one time zone away, Jim chose Dubai because of the beautiful Anantara resort. In fact, it was so nice, we never left! (No, we didn't go snow skiing in the Mall of the Emirates!) After eating a huge delicious breakfast in the morning, we would lay out on our deck, and if we got too hot (which took about five minutes!) we literally walked down a few steps from our deck into a huge pool! We enjoyed the restaurants on location for dinner, and Jim surprised Rhonda with a beautiful bouquet of roses for the upcoming Mother's Day holiday.
