After the parties in Atyrau, we went to Turkey for a few days over the Nauryz holiday. Istanbul is a modern city similar to other European cities but with so many exotic twists! We also enjoyed a day in the ancient Roman resort of Hierapolis and in the city of Ephesus, where we walked in the footsteps of Peter, Paul, John, and, according to tradition, Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who is said to have come to the area with John, who took care of her after Jesus' death and resurrection.

was originally a Roman Catholic church but after the rise of Islam has been used
as a mosque.

Interior of Hagia Sophia. Islam does not allow images of persons in its
mosques. Here, you see the signs of Mohammad and Allah, but you also see
shrouded Christian icons that have been preserved but cannot be displayed.
